What Happened:
On Saturday, December 6, 2025, nearly 20,000 Central Floridians filled the University of Central Florida’s Memory Mall for the 2025 Greater Orlando Heart Walk, a community event focused on heart health, hope, and lifesaving education. American Heart Association
Participants from all walks of life — families, fitness groups, health advocates, and local leaders — united to raise awareness about heart disease and stroke. The event wasn’t just a walk: it was a celebration of healthy living and community strength. American Heart Association
Why It Matters:
Organized by the American Heart Association, the Heart Walk brought attention to an important fact: immediate CPR can double or even triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival, and community education is critical to saving lives. American Heart Association
Health professionals, volunteers, and organizers used the event to:
Promote CPR training
Share information on preventing heart disease
Encourage active, heart-healthy lifestyles
Strengthen local unity through a shared cause American Heart Association
Voices from the Event:
This year’s walk was chaired by Wendy Brandon, CEO of UCF Lake Nona Hospital, who inspired local leaders and community organizations to support heart health education and research funding. American Heart Association
A Lasting Impact: The Heart Walk isn’t just a one-day event — it builds momentum all year long by empowering local residents with knowledge and tools to care for each other’s health. American Heart Association
